About Carolanne Graham
Carolanne’s core practice is quilt making with naturally dyed fabrics. She is drawn to the colours that come from nature and the hard work it takes to extract them. When her hands are in every stage of the production, that physical engagement results in an object that feels deeply meaningful. It is a process-intensive approach, but today slowing the process of making feels like a necessary act of resistance. It encourages time for reflection and brings comfort in quiet repetition.
About Museum of Toronto
We are Toronto’s city museum. We offer experiences that tell the histories of Toronto. Enjoy our programming in our downtown exhibition space, throughout the city, and online.
Museum of Toronto is Getting Toronto, Together. We are made possible with the generous support of Diane Blake and Stephen Smith.
About the Contemporary Textile Studio
The Contemporary Textile Studio Co-Operative was established in 2006 by a group of textile artists seeking an affordable, properly equipped studio space for their work and a home for the promotion of textile arts and design. We’re located in 401 Richmond Street West, a well-known cultural hub in downtown Toronto that is home to many galleries, artist-run centres, and art collectives. Our working studio is a prime 1200 square foot space where members produce work, teach, learn, interact, and innovate with other designers, artists, students, and the community.
