We’re currently hiring for a Visitor Experience Ambassador. Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, your responsibilities as the Visitor Experience Ambassadors include the following:

• Demonstrate commitment to Museum of Toronto’s vision, mission, and values by demonstrating exceptional customer service to our visitors in the gallery and during events.
• Open and close exhibition space in a timely manner, including all tech equipment (iPads, projectors, headsets, etc), replenish exhibition supplies, display any signage, general cleaning and tidying up the space prior to, and at the end of each shift, etc.
• Support the overall museum visitor experience by assisting our visitors with any questions or concerns using proactive engagement tactics. This includes being skilled at conversational strategies, wayfinding, guiding guests throughout the exhibition space using visual tools provided and maintaining knowledge and information about current and upcoming events and programming.
• Consistently monitor galleries to ensure that the displayed artifacts/installations are not damaged, stolen, or vandalized. This includes periodic walking through the galleries, checking for any potential hazards, and reporting any suspicious activity to the appropriate authorities.
• Complete end-of-shift reports to support research and evaluation in tracking visitor feedback and metrics.
• Support museum data collection efforts by ensuring guests register at entry with their email address, and encouraging newsletter signups from visitors.
• Promote the charitable nature of our work and the importance of supporting Museum of Toronto by actively pursuing donations to help us meet our earned revenue target.
• Consistently demonstrate seamless and welcoming behaviours at all posts by engaging guests and asking the right opening questions to understand what the guest needs. “Where are you visiting from?” “Have you been to our Museum before?”
• Actively participate and complete regular training, and demonstrate interest in continuous learning and professional growth
• Other Duties as assigned, including assisting with special events, administrative tasks and general cleaning of exhibition space (dusting, cleaning screens and vitrines).
